Medico-Legal experience

Mr Sachin has completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon medicolegal training in report writing, courtroom skills, and civil procedure rules. He is happy to receive instructions from Claimant and Defendant law firms in both personal injury and clinical negligence cases.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Mr Malde has been in specialist urological practice since 2010 and has held a Consultant NHS post at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2016. Mr Malde specialises in all areas of general urology but has an internationally renowned practice in functional and gynaecological urology, neuro-urology, urinary tract infections, and urinary tract reconstruction (both open and robotic). He also specialises in the management of prostate diseases, benign prostate enlargement and urological cancers, and has undergone specialist training in these areas. Mr Malde has considerable experience of assessing serious incidents and performing root-cause analyses in his role as Clinical Governance Lead at Guy’s Hospital.

Clinical Interests

Mr Malde has a clinical interest in all aspects of general and diagnostic urology; uro-gynaecology; female urology; functional urology; vaginal mesh complications (TVT/TOT); iatrogenic ureteric and bladder injuries – obstetric, gynaecological, colorectal; urinary tract fistulae (vesicovaginal, rectourethral); neuro-urology (spinal cord injury, brain injury voiding dysfunction, cauda equina syndrome, bladder overdistension injury); urodynamics; urological cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, prostate enlargement, urinary tract infections, catheters and endourology.

Research Interests

Mr Malde has published extensively, including several book chapters. He is Principal Investigator on a number of national trials run by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, in the areas of bladder cancer, urinary incontinence, and prostate enlargement. He is regularly an invited speaker at national and international conferences, including the European Association of Urology, British Association of Urological Surgeons, International Continence Society and International Society for the Study of Interstitial Cystitis.

Management Experience

Mr Malde has considerable management experience through his roles as undergraduate urology lead for King's College London Medical School, Clinical lead for female, neuro and reconstructive urology at Guys Hospital, South East London Lead for benign prostate enlargement, and lead for the International Society for the Study of Interstitial Cystitis.

Summary of Publications

Mr Malde has over 100 peer-reviewed publications. He serves as an editorial board member of the journals BJUI Compass and Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases, and is a reviewer for several other specialist Urology journals.

Teaching & Training

Mr Malde is an expert tutor and faculty on the Royal College of Surgeons Basic Surgical Skills course, FRCS (Urol) course, Scientific Basis of Urology Course, BAUS functional urology training course, and EAU prosthesis course. He is the undergraduate Urology lead for King’s College London Medical School and is a postgraduate tutor and supervisor for London Deanery specialty trainees.
