Ms Toms has an extensive 30-year career in healthcare, working in acute and community services across the North of England. Currently, she serves as Divisional Nursing Director at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. In her distinguished career, Ms Toms has held several key positions, including Head of Nursing and Professional Lead in Extensive Care. In the latter role, she implemented a clinical blueprint for a new vanguard model of care, enhancing patient outcomes and streamlining service delivery. She also supported the development of new clinical roles to meet the evolving needs of patients and the healthcare system. As Divisional Nursing Director, Ms Toms leads and oversees the development of high-quality services across the Integrated Care Division, encompassing both hospital and community services. Her leadership is marked by a commitment to excellence in patient care, fostering innovation, and ensuring the highest standards in service delivery. Under her guidance, the Integrated Care Division strives to provide seamless and efficient healthcare, meeting the diverse needs of the community.

Ms Toms is particularly interested in harm free care, pressure ulcer prevention, patient safety, falls prevention, clinical risk assessment, community nursing, admission prevention, residential care, nursing care, quality care, continuing health care (CHC), patient safety, integrated working, safeguarding, intermediate care, and non-medical prescribing.
