Clinical Practice & Experience
Dr Jeremy Lewis graduated as a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2007. Following this, he began working at the King’s Mill Hospital. Since then, Dr Lewis has gained over 15 years of experience working in hospitals, with a particular focus in Acute and General (Internal) Medicine. Dr Lewis has enjoyed a broad clinical practice; his previous roles have included a focus in renal medicine, cardiology, haematology, gastroenterology, and respiratory medicine. Currently, Dr Lewis holds the position of Consultant in Acute Medicine at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. He has held his position since 2016.
Clinical Interests
Dr Lewis has a keen interest and expertise in acute kidney injuries. His clinical responsibilities include unselected general medical take, ongoing care of medical inpatients, ambulatory care, and same day emergency care. Dr Lewis also works with level one higher dependency admissions, telephone triage, and other specialty areas.
Dr Lewis provides expert level care for all Acute Medicine presentations, including chest pain, breathlessness, venous thromboembolism, sepsis and infections, collapse, confusion, delirium, headaches, seizures, overdose and poisoning, alcohol use and related disorders, falls, head injuries, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, endocrine/diabetes emergencies and non-specific deteriorations in health.
