Medico-Legal experience

Mrs Murray is happy to accept instructions from both the Claimant and the Defence. She has previously provided evidence in several Coroner's Court cases.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Since qualifying as a Registered General Nurse in 1994, Mrs Murray has worked across Greater Manchester Hospitals, gaining invaluable experience, and implementing programmes to ensure nursing excellence, including implementing the Donor Care Practitioner Programme, ensuring a positive increase in the number of organs for transplantation. She has worked closely with multiple services during her practice and has a vast generic portfolio always striving to improving Nursing standards and patient care. Currently, Mrs Murray is the Divisional Nurse Director at the Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She works in collaboration with the Chief Nurse to set the overall direction for nurses, midwives, health care scientists and allied health professionals across the Trust. Mrs Murray also works closely with the Infection Control & Prevention Team. She has significant experience in many change improvements and a strong track record in healthcare management, having led and implemented strategic initiatives to enhance patient care, staff engagement, and operational efficiency across various healthcare divisions. These have been instrumental in restructuring leadership teams, strengthening clinical governance, and improving accountability frameworks. Notable achievements include securing funding for critical projects, developing workforce strategies, and enhancing patient safety through innovative programs. Mrs Murray has helped design, develop and deliver service improvement initiatives across various healthcare settings and successfully led the review and restructure of an Emergency Department’s leadership, which received high praise from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Clinical Interests

During her previous role as Head of Nursing for the Division of Heart and Lung, Mrs Murray took a keen interest in heart and lung Ttansplantation as well as cardiothoracic surgery. She also completed her MSc dissertation in the field of palliative care within heart and lung transplantations.

Management Experience

Mrs Murray has obtained a masters degree in leading and managing in healthcare practice. Key role is to provide leadership for nurses, allied health professionals and other professionals in the Acute Adult Care Division. She has engendered a clear visible leadership style built on compassion and accountability.

Teaching & Training

Mrs Murray wrote and facilitated the Donor Care Practitioner Programme, which a cohort of retrieval nurses successfully completed. She is dedicated to improving the nursing standards within her Trust, and has led on a nursing workforce development on behalf of the Trust.
