Mr David Mowatt graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the St George’s Hospital, London in 1997, having previously trained in maxillofacial surgery. Following his general surgical training, he undertook specialist training in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He was later awarded his Doctorate from the University College London for research into tissue bioengineering and regenerative medicine undertaken at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Since 2010, Mr Mowatt has been a consultant at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, one of the leading cancer hospitals in Europe. Alongside his work at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Mr Mowatt runs a parallel private practice, undertaking a similar scope of work.
Clinical Interests
Mr Mowatt specialises in cancer surgery and reconstructive surgeries following cancer treatments. His practice focuses on sarcoma surgery, including dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP). He also has a keen focus on all forms of skin cancer including malignant melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and rare skin cancers. Mr Mowatt has particular expertise in the surgical management of patients with sarcoma, skin cancers and reconstruction of complex defects.
