Medico-Legal experience

Ms Joseph is available to be instructed by both Claimant and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence cases. She has experience in legal report writing, mental capacity assessments, and expert witness testimony.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Ms Joseph qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 1999. She later completed an Independent and Supplementary Prescribing qualification (2006), PGCert in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education, successfully registering as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy  (2021). Ms Joseph is also a registered Teacher in Higher Education with the NMC (2022). She has held senior roles in clinical practice, higher education, and healthcare governance.

Ms Joseph presently is the director of her healthcare training and consultancy business. Most recently, Ms Joseph was the Head of Nursing and Education at Prometheus Safe and Secure, providing strategic clinical leadership, leading on infection control and safeguarding. She has previously worked as a Senior Lecturer at various universities in the UK, a Serious Incident Reviewer and compliance and registration inspector. Her expertise spans various areas of mental health care, its legal frameworks, academic research and patient safety.

Clinical Interests

Ms Joseph is passionate about Mental Health Practice. She has a particular interest in patient safety, governance, and equality and diversity.

Management Experience

Ms Joseph has extensive leadership experience, having managed nursing teams, service provisions, and educational programs. She has led clinical governance, compliance, safeguarding, and infection control initiatives. In her most recent roles, she focused on the development of policies, training strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

Teaching & Training

Ms Joseph is an experienced educator, having worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire and UCL. She has led MSc Mental Health Nursing programs, developed curriculum frameworks, and supervised research projects. She continues to deliver guest lectures/presentations on Diversity in Mental Health, Mental Health Law and other related topics.
