Mr Josephson underwent his additional optometry training at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle and further specialist training within BBR Optometry, Hereford. He accepted a post-qualification role as Clinical Resident Optometrist at Kathryn Stott Opticians, now part of the Bayfield family, where he remained for 3 years. During 2012-2013, Mr Josephson gained experience as a Locum Optometrist for an independent practice. In 2013 he accepted the position of Resident Optometrist at Maskell + Associates, which he subsequently bought in 2017 and rebranded in 2019, changing its name to Maskell + Josephson to reflect his ownership. Having worked in various independent practices over the last 13 years, Mr Josephson has built up a wealth of experience and prides himself on offering a level of service and care that is unrivalled.
Clinical Interests
Mr Josephson’s clinical interests lie within glaucoma, macular degeneration, complex contact lenses, complex prescriptions, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). He also has a specialist interest for myopia control and dry eye management. In 2022, Mr Josephson qualified as an accredited community glaucoma clinician acting as a triage between other optometrists and hospital care to determine whether patients require hospital services or not.

Prizes and Awards
Mr Josephson was selected as one of only four students in his academic year to be transferred to the elusive Master of Optometry degree, rather than the standard BSc.
Mr Josephson was one of only three candidates to successfully complete this degree in his year in the whole of the UK.
