Dr Bianchi is a Consultant & Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine currently working within the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Sheffield since July 2007. He is Clinical Respiratory Lead for the management of children and young people focussing on transitional care and a Lead Clinician for both interstitial lung disease and sleep & ventilation. Dr Bianchi leads a diverse general respiratory and internal medical practice and is considered a national expert in transitional care of patients with various neurological/respiratory illnesses, sleep medicine and interstitial lung disease. Dr Bianchi has a private clinical practice at the BMI Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield.
Clinical Interests
Dr Bianchi has expertise in general respiratory medicine (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, breathlessness, cough) with a special interests in sleep disordered breathing (e.g., sleep apnoea, respiratory failure, respiratory complications of neurological disease, ventilation), pulmonary fibrosis (scarring) and bronchiectasis (chronic lung infection).
