McCollum Consultants Welcomes New Experts to its Nursing Division

McCollum Consultants is pleased to announce the addition of several highly qualified and experienced professionals to its newly established Nursing Division. These new Senior nursing experts will bring their wealth of clinical and managerial expertise to the company’s expanding network of medico-legal professionals, enhancing the quality of reports provided to both public and private sector clients.

Ms Dawn Murray
Registered General Nurse | RGN, BSc (Hons), MSc
As Divisional Nurse Director at a major North West NHS Foundation Trust, Dawn brings nearly three decades of experience to the Nursing Division. Having worked extensively in acute medicine, infection control, and healthcare management, Dawn has implemented numerous initiatives to improve patient care, including the successful Donor Care Practitioner Programme. She has a proven track record in leadership, clinical governance, and patient safety, making her an invaluable addition to McCollum Consultants. Dawn’s expertise spans acute medicine, care management, and nursing leadership, and she has provided expert evidence in several Coroner’s Court cases.

Ms Michaela Toms
Divisional Nursing Director | RGN, BSc (Hons), PDip, MSc
Michaela brings 30 years of experience in healthcare, having worked in both acute and community settings across the North of England. As Divisional Nursing Director at a major North West NHS Foundation Trust, Michaela oversees high-quality service development across the Integrated Care Division. Her career includes significant achievements in harm-free care, pressure ulcer prevention, clinical risk assessment, and safeguarding. Michaela’s advanced qualifications in management and leadership, including the Queen’s Nurse Executive Director of Nursing Programme and NHS Leadership Academy Executive Directors Training Scheme, position her as a leading figure in healthcare management.

Ms Clare Lomax
Registered General Nurse | MSc, BSc, ENB
Clare is an experienced Registered General Nurse with over 30 years of practice, including leadership roles within critical care, general surgery, and orthopaedics. She is currently the Divisional Nurse Director and has significantly contributed to the reduction of pressure ulcers and improved patient safety outcomes across the anaesthetic and surgical services division. Clare’s extensive clinical experience and leadership have enhanced nursing key performance indicators, and her expertise spans care management, clinical risk, and urgent care. She is well-versed in medico-legal work..

Ms Jean Cockshaw
Community Midwife | ENB997, RGN, RM
With over 30 years in midwifery, Jean brings her extensive experience in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to the Nursing Division. Jean is passionate about continuity of care and is actively involved in pioneering initiatives in line with NHS England’s Better Births policy. Her work on the “Saving Babies Lives” care bundle has been instrumental in reducing stillbirths and neonatal deaths. Jean also mentor’s student midwives and provides antenatal education to women and their families, ensuring they make informed decisions about their care.
