Clinical Practice & Experience

Ms. Igbokwe is an accomplished Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a wealth of experience in advanced vascular care and general nursing. She began her career after graduating from the School of Nursing Umulogho in Nigeria in 2006 and later pursued further education in Nursing and Healthcare at Buckinghamshire New University, High Wycombe. Ms. Igbokwe went on to earn a Master of Science in Infection Control in 2018, followed by a Master’s in advanced clinical Practice in 2022. Her Masters degrees have equipped her with advanced clinical skills and a deep understanding of evidence-based practice. She is also currently doing her PGCert in education.

Her career has spanned a variety of roles, including Healthcare Assistant at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Supervised Practice Nurse/Senior Care Assistant at Park Lodge Nursing Home, and Staff Nurse within the Vascular and Head and Neck Units at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Ms. Igbokwe has also held positions, such as Ward Sister in the Vascular Unit and Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner, before transitioning into her current role as a vascular Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

Clinical Interests

Ms Igbokwe’s clinical interests lie within vascular care and education, wound management amongst other aspects of nursing.

Research Interests

My research interest centres on enhancing wound care management and promoting the education of nurses and healthcare workers. My goal is to create protocols based on solid research that improve patient outcomes. Additionally, I want to investigate new ways of teaching to ensure healthcare professionals stay informed and skilled in the latest advancements. Through the assessment of the efficacy of different wound care treatments and teaching approaches, my goal is to narrow the divide between research and clinical use.

Management Experience

Ms Igbokwe has vast experiences of managing and monitoring patients within her day-to-day job. She is currently the lead Vascular Nursing Educator and works to maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams. She also manages the Vascular Specialist nurses at Manchester university NHS Foundation Trust.

Teaching & Training

I am currently doing my PGCert in education, As a vascular advanced clinical practitioner, I oversee a team of specialist nurses, coordinate patient care, and promote education in vascular nursing. This includes holding training sessions and seminars to ensure that nurses and healthcare professionals are up to date with the latest research and best practices. By engaging in mentoring and delivering spoken instruction, I am able to effectively incorporate evidence-based approaches into my teaching. The integration of practical care and instruction cultivates a culture of ongoing education and enhancement among the team.
