Overview

Medico-Legal experience

Dr Ibrahim is happy to be instructed by both Police and Prosecution Services as well as Defendant law firms. Dr Ibrahim has completed courtroom training by Bond Solon.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Dr Ibrahim qualified in 2005 from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in Egypt with the qualifications Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Dr Ibrahim

started her career in Forensic Medicine after gaining the qualification of Master of Science in Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology in 2009 and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology in 2012 from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University Hospitals. After qualifying, Dr Ibrahim spent 7 years as a specialist forensic medical examiner which included undertaking clinical examinations in cases of sexual assault, physical assault, child abuse, medical malpractice, and disability assessment cases. Additionally, post-mortem examinations for natural and unnatural deaths.

Dr Ibrahim gained GMC registration in the UK in August 2021 and is now a Forensic Physician in the Thames Valley Sexual Assault Service where she works independently with complainants of all ages, mainly children.

Clinical Interests

Dr Ibrahim has a major interest in forensic medicine, including sexual assault and physical abuse of both adults and children. Dr Ibrahim prefers to report on cases of child sexual and physical abuse, sexual and physical assault in adults, acute and historic incidents.

Research Interests

Dr Ibrahim is interested in research on child abuse and neglect, homicide and suicidal deaths.

Summary of Publications

Dr Ibrahim has published many research papers and case studies in international forensic medicine scientific journals and conferences, including on topics such as: child abuse and neglect, injury interpretation and forensic toxicology. Other publication included deaths related to child abuse and neglect, homicide and suicidal deaths.

Teaching & Training

Dr Ibrahim is an affiliate member by qualification in the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine FFLM since 2019, and a member of the Royal College of Pathologists as a Medical Examiner (RCPathME) since 2022. Dr Ibrahim teaches regularly in The Specialist Child Abuse Investigation Development Programme (SCAIDP), Thames Valley Police Training Course. Dr Ibrahim has been a Certified Trainer in child Protection since 2016. Dr Ibrahim has been involved in teaching Forensic medicine for undergraduate and postgraduate students since 2006.

Prize for Best presentation awarded at the conference of the World Academy of Science, Engineering & Technology, Italy: 2017.

Awarded as the best research in the 8th annual International Forensic Medicine & Clinical Toxicology Conference – Cairo university: 2010
