Medico-Legal experience

Ms Lomax is happy to be instructed by both Claimant and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence actions.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Ms Lomax qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993. Since then, she has gone on to further her career and expertise in the field by undertaking an Emergency Nurse Practitioner Course (2002) and a Bachelors degree in Clinical Nursing Practice (2003). Later, Ms Lomax undertook a Masters in Senior Leadership at Lancaster University (2022).

Ms Lomax has worked for various hospitals, many of which within Greater Manchester. She has gained invaluable experience working in the Emergency Department, setting up Ambulatory Care units, and working on numerous services. She has worked as a Lead Nurse at numerous large NHS Foundation Trusts in the north west. Ms Lomax currently holds the position of Division Nurse Director.

Clinical Interests

As part of her current position, Ms Lomax works on the current services: Critical Care, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Head and neck, Urology, Ophthalmology, Breast services, Audiology, and Cancer services. In the last twelve months, as part of her position as Divisional Nurse Director, Ms Lomax has achieved a reduction in category 2 pressure ulcers, and had no category 3/4 pressure ulcers and below trajectory inpatient fall numbers.

Research Interests

Completed Dissertation in relation of impact of COVID on a critical care unit in 2020.

Management Experience

Ms Lomax had undertaken many leadership roles. She is currently the Divisional Nurse Director, where she is responsible for the quality and safety across the anaesthetic and surgical services division. She is also respoinsoble for the delivery of nursing care. Throughout her career, Ms Lomax has managed and supported many services, including community discharge teams and patient flow teams. Ms Lomax had improved nursing KPI’s over the last two years.

Ms Lomax has ran trust wide progammes on improving NEWS compliance. ALS instructor for 10 years.
